Nathan Hale Homestead: Coventry, built by the father of the patriot, dates back to 1776 Benton Homestead: Tolland, ghost house and Revolutionary War prison. Capriland's Herb Farm: Coventry, 18th century farm and restaurant surrounded by 28 herb gardens. University of Connecticut (UCONN): Storrs, horse and cow barns, greenhouse, ice-cream shop and home of the UCONN Huskies NCAA basketball champs! LOTS of stuff to see and do.
Within 30-50 miles... State Capitol, State House: Hartford, Capitol dates back to 1879, house to 1796. Elizabeth Park: Hartford, features 900 types of roses! Mark Twain and Harriett Beecher Stowe Houses: Hartford, where Twain lived while writing Huckleberry Finn and where Mrs. Stowe (Uncle Tom's Cabin) lived until her death.
Dinosaur State Park: Rocky Hill, hundreds of tracks and you can make your own plaster casts to take home!
